Description: BARC Developmental Services, a non-profit agency serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism in Bucks County, is currently seeking volunteers from the general public to help improve the lives of individuals supported by the agency.
Volunteers are needed to serve on the agency’s oversight body for individuals’ restrictive procedures. This Peer Review Committee acts as an internal oversight entity on restrictive procedures for identified individuals and provides monthly review and approval of all proposed restrictive procedures, as well as ongoing review of all restrictive plans currently implemented for adults receiving services via our Residential and/or Vocational Services Department(s). The Committee is intended to guide our associates and support teams to fully consider the individual and his/her personal needs, as well as establish uniform methods of providing functional, enhancing, and least restrictive supports and interventions in order to optimize consumers’ quality of life.
Applicants for this volunteer position should have a degree of expertise in the field of intellectual disabilities. Peer Review Committee meetings are currently held on one Monday morning per month in Holicong, PA and last approximately 3 hours. Due to federal regulations, BARC Developmental Services is not able to offer any monetary compensation, however, we are able to provide lunch from a local restaurant at the conclusion of each meeting. BARC Developmental Services looks forward to hearing from you regarding this opportunity.
