I have been training to get ready for the Anthracite Triathlon, to be held in Jim Thorpe on July 16, 2017. This will be my third year of participating in this race. Two years ago, I took third place in my age group at this event.
The triathlon is an Olympic distance race, consisting of a 1.5K swim in Mauch Chunk Lake, a 40K bicycle ride that includes a heck of a hill between Mauch Chunk Lake and Lansford, and a 10K run on the beautiful Switchback Trail.
The triathlon itself raises funds for the youth programs sponsored by the Hazelton YMCA. However, I am personally doing this event to raise funds for BARC Developmental Services. As an employee, I am passionate about what we do. BARC Developmental Services provides Early Intervention, Residential and Vocational supports to over 700 individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autsim from birth through retirement. We could not provide these resources without donors like you. I hope you will consider contributing this year.
All contributions go directly to BARC Developmental Services. I have paid the registration fee and overnight accommodations (for a 7:30 AM start!) with my own resources.
Thank you for your sponsorship!
