Karen Brownstein is the Director of Early Intervention at BARC Developmental Services, bringing over 20 years of experience supporting children and families. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Holy Family University and a Master of Social Work from Temple University.
Karen has been a dedicated member of BARC’s Early Intervention Department for more than two decades, previously serving as a Program Coordinator before stepping into her current leadership role in 2025. Before joining BARC, she worked as a social worker at a pediatric pulmonary residential unit and three community group homes servicing children and young adults with pulmonary challenges and medical complexities.
With a lifelong commitment to helping young children reach their full potential, Karen is passionate about providing high-quality early intervention services that make a lasting impact. She is also an active member of BARC’s Safety Committee and serves on the Bucks County Core Leadership Team (CLT), which is dedicated to upholding the Bureau of Early Intervention Services and Family Supports (BEISFS) standards in the field.
